Recent Intensity Lab Changes

We have made recent changes to the Intensity Lab Web Site.

On the Intensity Lab Website we are posting a new Intensity Lab data product called Google Earth Tours for cities near significant events. These tours are constructed as Google Earth KMZ files. After each significant event, Google Earth KMZ tours are posted on the Intensity Lab Tours Web Page . These KMZ files can be downloaded and viewed using Google Earth. When viewed using Google Earth, these files create an animated tour of the earth epicenteral region, and fly over a city of interest near the earthquake, and report the estimated intensity for the city.

Intensity Lab seismic intensity reports are intended to broaden understanding and use of seismic intensity reporting, but Intensity Lab reports are not official and they may not be reliable after an earthquake. Please use the USGS Earthquake Information to obtain official earthquake information.
